key takeaways

overview
class: Make 10 Product Studio
duration: 10 Weeks
professor: Steve Chinisis

Starting off with this idea of a manufacturing 10 of the same product, I brainstormed the best product to try and sell to this audience of designers and college students. I chose to create a customizable lamp.
inspiration
What is inspiring this design?

initial ideation
After I established the product I wished to manufacture and my inspiration behind the design, I started the ideation process through sketching. I wanted to focus on this idea of customizable and/or modular lighting.

refinement
After I ideated a little more I decided to hone in on this idea of a geometric and modular lamp that gives off the feel of glass beads on a golden thread of light! I also began to focus more on each peice of this product and the manufacturing it may take to create these lamps.

branding & marketing
As I finished up making all 10 lamps, I wanted to take this product a step further by creating some very strong and intriguing branding for it. I also had to take into account my bill of materials and find a fitting price for each lamp to sell at. My profit margin was $30.00 per lamp. Here is my process below:
